DIY Frame for Preserving Summer Memories

Summer memories can be so sweet.  My children and I love to pick up fun and interesting objects whenever we spend time outdoors.  We come home with pockets full of leaves, rocks, sticks, shells acorn caps... whatever strikes our fancy.

When we came home from Pokagon last year we had a wonderful little collection.  The Littles spent days collecting, washing and sorting their finds.  Once we got home, though, I wasn't really sure what to do with them.  At first I put them into the basket where we keep our 'nature trinkets.'  But, we had such a wonderful trip that I wanted to do something special with them.

I went and bought and inexpensive wooden frame with a lots of room for display.  Then I just hot glued the items onto the frame.   Easy-Peasy.  And so cute!  I didn't have a picture of all of us from vacation. But, I had a copy of our family picture taken the previous fall.  I love how it turned out!

Every time I look at our frame, I remember our trip.

This idea could be used in so many different ways.  Ticket stubs from a movie or concert.  Your little ones favorite little trinkets or your older child's ribbons or medals.  Maybe souvenirs from a honeymoon or special trip.

What would you put on yours?
