Our God Is An Awesome God

Source: Butterfly and Pond

Can you even imagine what this world would be if God had chosen not to give us the brilliant colors that He did?

After this long, cold, snowy winter it is so nice to see the colors emerge! The bright green of the grass,  shoots and leaves.  The brilliant colors of the flowers in bloom everywhere you look.  The unique colors of the birds making their way back North from their Winter vacation.

God is in every detail.
Everything that He spoke into existence was fearfully and wonderfully made! As I drag the Bigs and Littles all over the countryside looking for this or that for our nature study, it hit me that we were really looking for bits and pieces of Him!

I want my children to really grasp God's Awesomeness! I don't want them to look at Him as a fairy tale or a cute little parable they learned in Sunday School.  I want them to know that a God that would create this beautiful and amazing world we live in wants to do a mighty work in each of them.  The detail and care He places in His creation pales in comparison to the love and concern He has for us.

As I was reading Psalms the other morning, Chapter 29 really brought my thoughts together.

Psalm 29

Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in His temple doth every one speak of His glory.
The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.
The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.

He is in control of everything, at all times.  If it was important for God to notice the details....how can we not do the same?
